Final update on missing niece
Well, here is the final scoop on what happened with my niece. Please feel free to call the police department that was in charge of the case: 620-672-5551 if you have any questions; I don’t know if they’ll tell you anything since it was a minor involved but you can verify that the guy is now in jail, I’m sure.
Anyway, about my niece, here’s the scoop. She is now home and the guy was caught and is now in jail. She was raped (she had sex but since she is only 14 and the guy is 25, it is still considered statutory rape, but as far as us family is concerned, he raped her by sweet talking her and persuading her to carry through with the act of sex.) so she was taken yesterday to the rape center in Wichita to get further evidence to file more charges against the guy. Found out that when we found her, she was still with that guy in Kansas City.
He decided to bring her home as long as she told us that she was with other people and he was gone. It was a very huge mess. Her grandpa just happened to be at a gas station when the guy pulled up in his big rig. Her grandpa seen her get out of the truck and she was crying. Grandpa grabbed her and the trucker took off like a bat out of hell! The girlfriend of her grandpa chased the truck, got the tag number and description of the truck and called it into the police. He was caught a few miles down the road and arrested. Her grandpa took her to the hospital then to the jail for questioning.
The police are now gathering information to see what other charges they can slap this guy with! My sister-in-law and brother were given full custody of Tasha. You see, Susan’s (my sister-in-law) mother had custody of Tasha since she was a baby because Susan was only 15 when she had Tasha
I want to thank everyone again for all the prayers, cross posting, reposting, creating posters, contacting all truck stops, and a special thank you to all the truckers who passed the word across the nation to find my niece safe and alive.

Leigh
